There are few things worse than wasting your precious cellphone minutes on telemarketers and phone solicitors who think you have nothing better to do with your time than listen to them ramble on about something you dont care the least bit about. Even worse if its a recording or auto-dialer.

Blocked is the first socially-powered telemarketer database intended to fit in perfectly with the flow of your daily life. Simply install the app and perform the initial sync and you instantly have access to a vast database of known telemarketers that will all be labeled as "Do Not Answer" (or whatever other name youd prefer). Then, any time you receive a call from a number that isnt recognized simple add it to the "Do Not Answer" contact using the iPhones build-in addressbook and "Add to Existing Contact" button.

Any time you want the latest updates just run the app and hit the sync button located in the top left! In addition to having the latest telemarketer list, youll be contributing to the database through your own modifications to it!

Pros and cons of Blocked app for iPhone and iPad

Blocked app good for

This is not only a terrific app, at a reasonable price, but can only get better as we all add to the list. I HATE sales calls, have had several nasty exchanges with them, they have an attitude that they have the right to invade your privacy. I will never buy from telemarketers. Yes, one can create a Do Not Answer List, but you have to do it manually EVERY time, where a shared database can save time. The list is already pretty large. Another thing I appreciated: Scott, the author, responded quickly when my app did not work, and also when the fix was put into place. Someone that committed to service ought to be rewarded, not castigated. All you negative natterers, use the program before you rip it.
This addresses one of the big problems with cel phones. Unwanted sales calls. Now we need to add a way to avoid Blocked caller id calls.
I only have a cell phone so I get calls all the time I dont want.. You can set a custom ringtone and just silence when you get a call you dont want. The more people we add #s to the list the better this app becomes! You can take it a step further and make a ringtone with no sound so you never even know the call is there unless you happen to look at the phone while its ringing.
I think this app is misunderstood and therefore underrated. With a named like "Blocked," people naturally assume that its purpose is to block calls, in the sense that your phone doesnt ring if an "idiot" calls. This app isnt fundamentally about blocking calls; its about sharing information - information about who the "idiots" are. If any of us finds an idiot, we all know about it. What you do with that information is up to you. I, for example, quasi-block it by assigning them a silent ring tone.
I can only get one phone Nbr Blocked on my IPhone. There is absolutely no mechanism whatsoever to add additional nbrs to be Blocked. Moreover I cannot even make contact with their "App Support.". I will have to contact Apple and urge Apple to terminate these scam artists. I urge everybody to make a complaint with your carrier(s). Jerry C. New York City

Some bad moments

This is the worst of the worst application ever... Even if i bought it for sooo cheap.. Its still not worth it.. I would still want a refund..
Extremely useless app. only displays "do not answer" or vice versa instead of name or number of caller. Must be upgraded, (for example; instead of telling me "do not answer" try showing nothing and log them for further check).
This app not working, its a fake . Ou money go to liars pocket
This app would be great if it didnt crash upon loading on iPhone OS 2.1! Hopefully it gets fixed soon!
As soon as I downloaded this app, I started receiving all these telemarketing calls! I thought it was kind of strange, and then I got up to 6 calls a day! The only thing different was this app. As soon as I deleted the app, the sales calls stopped, 2 days ago.
The strength of this app is the central database that we can all contribute to...like a wiki for telemarketer numbers to avoid. T()ast - you should revise your rating...yes one can create their own list on their phone for free, but that approach is not going to benefit from a master shared list built by many. In your misunderstanding you unfairly criticized this app. If possible, I would like to see this app enhanced with call count tracking, phone number labels customized to one or two word industry categories (political, lawyer, home improvement, etc.), ratings or other type of warning alert level, and the ability to override the DO NOT ANSWER for a specific number received from the master list when sync-ing.
